About
Alexandros M. Kyriazis is a performer and choreographer active in the fields of theatre, film and contemporary performance art. He is a graduate of the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance (SEAD), specialising in performance and choreography, while his training at Juste Debout School Paris helped shape his movement and performance identity.
In 2023 he performed in Olivier Dubois's Come Out at SommerSzene and ImPulsTanz. Since completing his studies in 2024, he has collaborated with directors, choreographers and artistic organisations in Cyprus, Greece and Europe. As a choreographer and movement director he was nominated for the THOK 2025 National Theatre Awards for Kafka's Doll and Little Prince, and for best choreography at the 2026 Theatre Critics Awards for The Shepherdess' Lover.
His own works, among them The One That Runs, How to Dwell On Everything 101, Funky & Clunky, Jimmy & Freddie and Bits & Pieces, explore the meeting point of theatre and dance through a physical, multidimensional stage language, and often carry his own writing and voice.
Works in English, Greek and French
Artist statement
Worlds. Worlds. Worlds. My interests lie in creating worlds that at a first glance seem daily, realistic and grounded yet carry a layer of fantasy, metaphor and abstraction.
A dusty old living room that represents a generational landscape, a train wagon that acts as a metaphorical inbetween, a waiting room that acts as a representation of a young person's concern about their future, a club that is a metaphor for the 21st century recognition oriented, capitalist system of the global west. I am fascinated by the concept of a metaphor and its ability to create associations on many levels.
